Nicholas John "Nick" Frost (born March 28, 1972 in Dagenham , Greater London ) is a British actor and screenwriter . Frost is best known for his collaborations with director Edgar Wright and actor Simon Pegg .

Career

Nick Frost was born in Dagenham, London, in 1972. When he was 16 years old, his father's company went bankrupt. Frost left school shortly afterwards to earn some money for the family. Then he lived in Israel in a kibbutz for two years . On his return to England he worked as a waitress in a café, where he met Simon Pegg.

He celebrated his first success in his role as Mike in the British television series Spaced . In 2002, Nick Frost wrote and directed the television series Danger! 50,000 volts! In 2004 he played his first major role in the movie Shaun of the Dead alongside Simon Pegg . For this role Frost received a nomination for "Best Newcomer" at the British Independent Film Awards . After a few more television roles, Frost played his next movie role in the comedy Kinky Boots - Man (n) wears boots . In 2006, Frost took over as Commander Henderson on the comedy show Hyperdrive . His other script works include Simon's Cam . In 2007 he took on a leading role in the British comedy Hot Fuzz , where he appeared again on the side of Pegg. Frost and Pegg also appeared together in the 2011 science fiction comedy Paul - An Alien on the Run . In 2013 he appeared with Pegg in Edgar Wright's science fiction film The World's End , which concluded the Blood and Ice Cream trilogy .

In Steven Spielberg's and Peter Jackson's animated film The Adventures of Tintin - The Secret of the Unicorn , Frost took on the role of the idiot policeman Schulze . The role of his partner Schultze was played by Simon Pegg.

Private life

Frost is also friends with Simon Pegg in private. Both lived together in a flat share before starting their film career.

Frost is married to television producer Mariangela Frost and lives in Twickenham, West London. Their son was born on June 22, 2011.
