HD 34445 is a yellow dwarf approximately 150 light years away in the constellation Orion . The star has a similar mass to the sun , but is slightly larger, much more luminous and seems to be older at around 8.5 billion years.
Planetary system
As early as 2004 it became known that HD 34445 was orbited by exoplanet HD 34445 b at a distance of about two AU . In 2010 this planet could be confirmed. In 2017, the discovery of five more exoplanets was announced. In 2018, the system is one of the few with more than five known exoplanets. All planets were discovered using the radial velocity method.
