The Hachinohe Highway ( Japanese 八 戸 自動 車道 , Hachinohe jidōshadō ) is a highway in Japan . The highway is a north-south route in the north of the main island of Honshū , from the Tōhoku highway at Hachimantai to the coastal town of Hachinohe . The highway is 81 kilometers long.

Street description

North of the city of Hachimantai, the Hachinohe Highway splits from the Tōhoku Highway. The highway has 2 × 2 lanes and runs to the northeast, through a hilly and wooded area. As usual in rural Japan, the departures are quite far apart. Before Kunohe, the highway turns north, some distance from the east coast of Honshu. On the south side of the city of Hachinohe, the highway splits in one direction leading to the city center and the other direction as a western bypass of the city and ends at Misawa .

history

The highway was largely opened on November 27, 1986, from Ichinohe to Hachinohe. The connection with the Tōhoku highway followed on September 7, 1989. On March 28, 1995 the bypass of Hachinohe opened and on July 18, 2002 opened the last connection in Hachinohe and the highway is thus completely opened.
