Hagen Nerdinger

Hagen Nerdinger (born January 8, 1937 in Augsburg ; † October 22, 2017 in Munich ) was a German draftsman and graphic artist .

Life

Hagen Nerdinger began his artistic training at the Augsburg Art School with Hermann Rothballer before studying with Franz Nagel at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts . He finally worked on typography in Augsburg with Lisa Beck .

Nerdinger worked at the Dorland advertising agency as art director and head of a design group. He later went into business for himself and ran JOB & HEN DESIGN and JOB Media GmbH, both in Munich , together with the copywriter and concept designer Jürgen Brauerhoch .

As a poster artist, the graphic artist designed posters for the Munich City Museum and for the exhibitions of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts for decades . His clients also included institutions such as the Neue Pinakothek Munich, the Munich City Archive and the Bauhaus Archive Berlin.

In 1997, the Munich City Museum honored graphic designer Hagen Nerdinger with an exhibition of his posters. Hagen Nerdinger's brother Winfried Nerdinger is an important architectural historian. Both of their father, Eugen Nerdinger , headed the Werkkunstschule Augsburg as a font and book designer.
