In the early 1970s, tribal council member Leo Schneller Elch was murdered on the Pine-Ridge Indian reservation in South Dakota . The FBI -Agent Ray Levoi that partially Indian descent, is the matter investigated along with his partner Frank Coutelle. He has to choose between legal compliance and loyalty to the Indians.

Reviews

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times that the film showed the beauty of the Indian reservation's landscape. He found some elements of the plot implausible.
