action

Mamo, an old well-known Kurdish singer from Iran, is planning to give one last concert in Erbil with his ten sons . The concert should be a cry for freedom . But the village elders warn Mamo of this and say that disaster will happen to him if he starts the journey.

But Mamo, who waited a full seven months for the visa, does not let himself be stopped from the trip. On the way, Mamo wants to take the singer Hesho, who lives with other women in the village of the singers exiled in 1334. Despite protests from his sons, he takes Hesho with him. However, Hesho is discovered and arrested by the Iranian border guard because women are not allowed to sing in Iran. Three of Mamo's sons are also sent back due to missing papers. The journey turns out to be long and dangerous. The musical instruments are destroyed on the way and Mamo loses more and more sons. Sick and without instruments and a singer, Mamo resigns. Hope comes with the girl Nîwemang or Palpalo. She wants to bring Mamo to Iraq via Turkey. But Mamo does not survive the trip and dies. His last wish is to come to the concert dead or alive. This is fulfilled for him.
