Hammer is a southeastern part of the municipality of Simmerath in the Aachen city region in North Rhine-Westphalia .

geography

It is located on the road between Simmerath-Dedenborn, Simmerath-Eicherscheid and Monschau -Widdau in the Rur valley at the Monschau state forest in the northern Eifel . At Hammer the Belgenbach , the Brommersbach and the Riffelsbach flow into the Rur.

history

Hammer consists of the streets “Am Hammerwerk”, “An der Streng”, “Dedenborner Straße”, “Grünentalstraße” and “Rittweg”.

Infrastructure

Hammer has a church and several campsites.
The cycle paths lead through the village:

Eifel-Höhen-Route , which leads as a circuit around the Eifel National Park ;
