The Hammershus is a RoPax - ferry the Bornholmslinjen, a subsidiary of Molslinjen . It alternately connects the port of Rønne on the island of Bornholm with the port of Køge and the ferry port of Sassnitz . The ship is named after the Hammershus castle ruins on Bornholm, whose names were also used by two other Bornholm ferries.
history
After Molslinjen won the new tender for the transport contract to operate the ferry connections to Bornholm for the period 2018–2028, the new building was commissioned on June 1, 2016 from Rauma Marine Constructions Oy in Rauma, Finland . As hull number 6001, the ship was on 4 August 2017 laid the keel and on 5 January 2018 launched in . The delivery to the shipping company took place on August 22, 2018. The Hammershus has been used on the connections to Bornholm since September 1, 2018, replacing the Hammerodde .
