Career

Hannes Angerer started grass skiing in 2005. After some success in school races, Hannes Angerer drove his first FIS race on June 5, 2009 . The next day he contested his first World Cup race , the super combination in Wilhelmsburg , but did not finish.

He won his first World Cup points on July 4th with 17th place in the slalom of Čenkovice . In total, Angerer drove in four World Cup races in the top 25 in the 2009 season , placing him in 48th place in the overall standings, tied with Japanese Rishu Okada . At the Junior World Championships 2009 in July and August, he was rated in all four competitions and achieved 15th place in the giant slalom as the best result. A month later he took part in the 2009 World Championships in Rettenbach . Here, too, he was able to classify himself in all four competitions and, with 23rd place in the slalom and 27th place in the super combination, he was twice among the fastest 30.

In June 2010 Hannes Angerer became Austrian junior champion in slalom and super-G. In World Cup races he drove twice under the fastest 15 in the 2010 season , with his best result being 14th in the slalom of Frais-Chiomonte . He also reached the top 10 for the first time in an FIS race. This enabled him to improve significantly in the overall World Cup and, as the third-best Austrian, achieved 20th place.

At the 2010 Junior World Championships in Dizin , he narrowly missed a medal with fourth place in the super combined. He was 14th in giant slalom and 16th in super-G, but disqualified in slalom. In the fourth World Cup race of the 2011 season , the slalom of Předklášteří on August 7, Angerer achieved his first top 10 result with fifth place and at the same time his best World Cup result to date. In the overall World Cup he was able to improve further with rank 13. He celebrated a great success at the Junior World Championships 2011 in Goldingen , when he was junior world champion in slalom and with sixth place in the Super-G also in the combination formed from these races. In the giant slalom, he was eliminated in the second round. His only result in the world championship in the general class, which was held at the same time, was 15th place in the Super-G.

In the 2012 season, Angerer was able to improve further with six top 10 placements in World Cup races. His best result of the season was the sixth place in the super combined from Rettenbach on September 2nd. In the overall World Cup, he finished tenth. At the Junior World Championships 2012 in Burbach , Angerer was the most successful participant, just like at the Junior World Championships last year. He won gold in the slalom as well as in the super combined and silver in the super G. In the giant slalom he finished fourth.

At the Junior World Championships 2013 in Rettenbach , he won gold in Super G, RTL and the Super Combined.

At the Junior World Championship in 2014 in San Sicario , he won gold in slalom and at the Junior World Championship in 2015 in Štítná nad Vláří (Czech Republic), he won gold in Super-G, RTL and the Super Combined.

In addition to his career in grass skiing, Angerer is also active as a ski runner and he won the Austrian championships in slalom, giant slalom and combined in 2014 and 2015 .
