history
2007–2012: Foundation and We Are the Royal
Royal Republic was founded in 2007 in Malmö , Sweden . The first album We Are the Royal was recorded in the Beach House Studios under the direction of producer Anders Hallbäck in Malmö. The album was mixed at ToyTown Studios and completed in 2009 with the help of Stefan Glaumann. The album was released in Sweden on August 6, 2010 and was very well received by critics, fans and radio stations.
The first three singles all reached number 1 on Bandit Rock 's Most Wanted list. Tommy-Gun also reached number 1 on the MTV rock charts .
The band gained fame in Germany, among other things, through the joint tour with the Donots .
In 2011 the band also played the traditional German festivals Rock am Ring and Rock im Park for the first time .
2012–2014: Save The Nation
On August 24, 2012, the band released their second album Save The Nation , which was recorded in Hansa Studio 1 and the Hansa Mix Room by producer Michael Ilbert. The American Tom Coyne did the mastering of Save The Nation at Sterling Sound in New York .
The album received consistently good reviews, which was also reflected in the better chart position compared to its predecessor.
The album was followed by various appearances in Australia , Great Britain , Germany , France and the Benelux countries, among others . Royal Republic attracted particular attention through appearances as the opening act for bands such as Social Distortion , The Subways , Die Toten Hosen and blink-182 .
2014–2016: Royal Republic & the Nosebreakers
On March 28, 2014 the Swedes released the record Royal Republic and the Nosebreakers, on which the titles of the two previous albums We Are The Royal and Save The Nation were interpreted acoustically and with strong country influences. To realize the project, Adam Grahn, Hannes Irengard, Jonas Almén and Per Andreasson got support from various studio musicians, above all Daniel Olsson, Anders Svensson and Oskar Appelqvist, who also performed live with the band.
Except for This Means War , all tracks were recorded in the Sunnana Studio by Markus Nilsson. As on the previous album, most of the mixing was done by Michael Ilbert in the Hansa Mix Room. The mastering took place at Chartmakers by Svante Forsbäck.
The tour for the acoustic album included nine concerts in Germany , France , Switzerland , the Czech Republic , Austria and Poland .
2016: Weekend Man
Royal Republic's fourth album, Weekend Man , was released on February 26, 2016 . The producers for the current album are Christian Neander and Michael Tibes. Like its predecessors, Weekend Man was mixed by Michael Ilbert in the Hansa Mix Room and mastered by Tom Coyne of Sterling Sound.
2019: Club Majesty
Their fifth album Club Majesty was released on May 31, 2019 .
