Hans Buchholz (born January 15, 1893 in Hanover ; † April 26, 1990 there ) was a German advertising consultant and association official .
Life
family
Hans Buchholz married Rosemarie (Rosemarie Katharina Ella, born October 24, 1916 in Gut Otten near Zinten , East Prussia ; † December 8, 2004 in Hanover) on March 20, 1948, born from the noble Le Tanneux von Saint Paul family . She had studied commercial graphics and painting in Königsberg and, shortly before the end of the war, in January 1945, fled by horse-drawn sleigh across the frozen lagoon from the advancing Russian troops to Hanover, where she was accepted by the barons of Münchhausen, Gut Bettensen near Ronnenberg. As a widow, she still lived in the four borders house in Hanover in the early 1990s . From the marriage 3 children were born, u. a. the musician Francis Buchholz .
Career
The end of the 19th century during the German Empire , born 1893 in Hannover Hans Buchholz was after the Second World War and already under the British military government , the relevant initiator for the reestablishment of the then advertising trade association Niedersachsen equipment mentioned organization of Lower Saxony advertisers and whose association he subsequently headed for 21 years as chairman until he left in 1967 for reasons of age. His successor was the main advertising manager of the Continental Gummi-Werke AG Fritz Martens, his deputy the advertising manager and business graduate Walter Woynar and the publishing representative Gerd Ahrens.
In addition, Buchholz was the founder of the Hanover Advertising School , which, according to the address book of the capital Hanover, had its seat at Schiffgraben 32 in 1962 and was later continued as the Academy for Sales Management to Hanover eV.
Also in 1962, Bucholz was listed in the Hanover address book as an industrial advisor at the address Four Limits 1 and with the same name as "Industrieberatung" at Bödekerstraße 76 .
On March 11, 1960, Buchholz was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon by the German Federal President for his special services.
Shortly before his resignation as chairman of the association, Buchholz was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class on July 27, 1966 by the German President for his far-reaching achievements in the field of advertising .
Hans Buchholz Medal
In 1966, the Hans Buchholz Medal was donated in honor of Bucholz , which has since been awarded to various personalities who have made outstanding contributions to the Hanover Academy founded by Buchholz and thus to the promotion of young talent

- 1967: Franz-Hubert Hädicke , graduate economist and managing director of the IHK Hannover-Hildesheim
- 1979: Horst Dreßel , publisher and managing partner of Schlüterschen publishing house and printing company
- Edgar Scheibe , painter and graphic artist, lecturer at the Hanover Advertising School in the subject "Physical and psychological aspects of color and form"; honored with the award of the golden Hans Buchholz medal
