Hans-Gert Jahn (born August 21, 1945 in Dorfchemnitz ) is a former German biathlete .

Hans-Gert Jahn was a sports soldier in the GDR and competed for the ASK Vorwärts Oberhof . He celebrated a first international success as a participant at the 1968 Winter Olympics of Grenoble , where he worked with Heinz Kluge , Horst Koschka and Dieter Speer finished sixth in the inaugural Olympic relay competition. At the Biathlon World Championships in 1969 , Jahn was used in singles and came in 15th. He celebrated his greatest international success at the Biathlon World Championships in Östersund in 1970 , where he was the starting runner of the relay team in the relay competition with Hansjörg Knauthe , Speer and Koschka at the time almost all-powerful representatives from the USSR and Norway won the bronze medal. At the time, he was not only the first biathlete in his club to win an international medal at a major event, it was also the first German athlete to win such a medal. In 1971 Jahn was 30 again in the singles in Hämeenlinna .

Nationally, Jahn won a medal for the first time at the GDR championships in biathlon in 1967 . With Egon Schnabel , Günther and Harrass, he won the silver medal in the relay competition with the first ASK team behind the representation of SG Dynamo Zinnwald . In 1968 Jahn repeated this result at the side of Schnabel, Günther and Hansi König , in 1969 and 1970 together with Günther, Thiel and Koch. For the fifth time he won the silver medal in 1971 with Koch, Thiel and Herbert Wiegand . Jahn was denied a title due to the superiority of the Zinnwalder during these years.

Today Jahn works as head of the biathlon department at WSV Oberhof 05 .
