Hans-Heinrich Wrede

Hans-Heinrich Wrede (* 1946 in Marienau ) is a former German diplomat . From 2007 to 2011 he was permanent representative of the Federal Republic of Germany to the UN organizations in Rome.

After graduating from high school in 1966, Wrede studied law and sociology in Cologne , Heidelberg , Lausanne , Paris and New York until 1972 . From 1977 to 1979 he completed the preparatory service for the higher foreign service and, after successfully completing this, worked at the German embassy in Addis Ababa until 1982 . Stations at the Foreign Office , La Paz , Vienna and London followed. From 1994 to 1995, Wrede was also head of the personal office of the former Federal Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher . From 2003 to 2005 he was the first German President of the Executive Council of UNESCO . From January 10, 2007 to 2011, Wrede was Permanent Representative of the Federal Republic of Germany to the UN organizations FAO , WFP and IFAD .

Today he lives with his wife in Munich 's Bogenhausen district .
