Hans-Joachim Fröhlich (General)

Hans-Joachim Fröhlich (born October 2, 1946 in Nienburg / Weser ) is a retired German Brigadier General . D. He was u. a. Commander of the Artillery Brigade 100 as well as the Multinational Task Force South and the German KFOR contingent .

Life

In October 1966, Fröhlich joined the artillery force of the Bundeswehr. After his officer training, he was first a platoon leader and later an S2 officer. From 1975 to 1978 he was battery chief of the artillery training battery 15/11 in Fürstenau .

From 1978 to 1980 he was battery chief of the 4./Raketenartilleriebataillon 112 in Delmenhorst , then lecture hall director at the artillery school in Idar-Oberstein and 1982/83 battery chief of the 1./Panzerartillerielehrbataillon 95 in Munster. From 1983 to 1986 he was an S3 staff officer and deputy commander of the 11th field artillery battalion in Hanover-Bothfeld . In 1986/87 he was a tactics teacher at the Federal Language Office in Hürth. Then he completed the general staff course (H) at the command academy of the Bundeswehr (FüAkBw) in Hamburg.

As battalion commander , he led the 35 armored artillery battalion in Neustadt - Luttmersen (1988 to 1990). In 1990/91 he was a lecturer and tutor at the FüAkBw. Subsequently, he was used as head of inspection at the Artillery School in Idar-Oberstein and in the Army Office in Cologne. From 1995 to 1998 he commanded the Artillery Training Regiment 5 Hunsrück in Idar-Oberstein. Afterwards he was head of the further development group and deputy general of the artillery at the artillery school.

From 2000 to 2002 Fröhlich was the commander of Panzer Brigade 14 "Hessischer Löwe" in Neustadt (Hesse). In July 2002, the Artillery Brigade 100 was set up in Mühlhausen / Thuringia under his leadership . In 2003 he was promoted to brigadier general. From November 2006 to March 2007 he was the successor to Brigadier General Lutz Niemann, commander of the Multinational Task Force South (MNTF S) and the German KFOR contingent in Prizren in Kosovo ; the brigade was involved in the 15th and 16th contingents. He was succeeded by Brigadier General Erich Pfeffer . In Mühlhausen he was represented by Colonel Hubertus von Rohr during his assignment abroad . On November 1, 2007, the Brigadier General was retired.

Fröhlich is married and has one child.
