Hans-Peter Wetzel

Hans-Peter Wetzel (born September 20, 1950 in Überlingen ) is a German lawyer and politician of the FDP / DVP and a former member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg .

education and profession

After primary school in Bonndorf , today a district of Überlingen on Lake Constance, and secondary school leaving certificate in Überlingen, Hans-Peter Wetzel completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk in Überlingen from 1967 to 1970 . From 1970 to 1971 he was a clerk at Kramer Werke GmbH in Überlingen. From 1971 to 1974 he studied business administration at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt and from 1974 to 1979 law at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg . He passed the first state examination in law in 1979. From 1979 to 1981 he was a trainee lawyer at the District Court of Constance . After the assessor exam in 1981 he was admitted to the bar at the District Court of Constance. In 1984 he received his doctorate in law from the University of Konstanz . The topic of his dissertation was "The Effects of the Accounting Directives Act on the principle of relevance of the commercial balance sheet for the tax balance sheet and vice versa" . He has been running his own law firm since 1984. He has been a specialist lawyer for tax law since 1984 and a specialist lawyer for inheritance law since 2005 .

Political activity

From 1997 to 2007 Hans-Peter Wetzel was the local chairman of the FDP Überlingen. From 2006 to 2008 he was district chairman of the FDP Bodensee-Oberschwaben. In November 2008 he was elected district chairman of the FDP in the Lake Constance district and thereupon announced that he would not run again in the election for district chairman.

Wetzel was a member of the municipality council of the city of Überlingen from 1984 to 1995 . Since 2004 he has been a member of the district assembly and chairman of the FDP district assembly in the Lake Constance district . He was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg for the duration of the 14th electoral term from 2006 to 2011. He was elected via a second mandate in constituency 67 (Lake Constance) .

Hans-Peter Wetzel is a member of the Lawyers' Association in the District Court of Constance, the German Association for Inheritance Law and Asset Succession (DVEV) and the Überlingen Hansel guild .

Hans-Peter Wetzel is Roman Catholic . He is married and has two children.
