Hans August Zierngibl (born June 22, 1864 in Munich ; † July 22, 1906 there ) was a German painter and draftsman of portraits and genre scenes.

Life

Hans August Zierngibl was born the son of an innkeeper in Munich. He studied since April 25, 1881 in the class of antiquities at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich a . a. with Johann Caspar Herterich .

He then worked as a freelance artist in Munich. By 1891 at the latest, he lived at Klenzestrasse 24 in the Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt district until at least 1904 . In 1899 he stayed in the Bolzano district of Gries-San Quirino , in the district of Gries. He was a member of the Munich Artists' Cooperative and the General German Art Cooperative and died at the age of 42.

In addition to his works he created at least one watercolor - artist postcard that at L. Fränzl & Co appeared in Munich, on the Leopoldsbrunnen in Innsbruck is shown.

On September 25, 1907, an auction of paintings, watercolors and drawings by modern masters from the estate of Zierngibl took place in A. & W. Bauer's art auction house at Prinzregentenstrasse 2 in Munich, 115 works from his collection and 22 of his own works.
