Hans Balzer
Hans Balzer (born October 28, 1891 in Handorf , † October 6, 1960 in Kassel ) was a German playwright and writer .
Life
Hans Balzer was the son of a teacher and first attended the village school where his father taught. After graduating from secondary school in Lüneburg , he studied German from 1911 until the beginning of the First World War . After the end of the war, Balzer worked in various professions and from 1924 traveled through Germany as a reciter, especially with works by Wilhelm Busch . At the beginning of the 1930s he began to write Low German theater pieces, some of which were also edited for radio. He wrote the radio play Reinke de Voss himself . Balzer was also the editor of various reading and lecture books, including works by Fritz Reuter about his character Zacharias Bräsig . Balzer later lived in Leipzig and died in Kassel in 1960 a few weeks before he was 69 years old.
Hans Balzer's plays De verflixte Strump and Dat Lock in'n Tuun were shown as High German productions by the Ohnsorg Theater on television, the latter under the title Hühner in Nachbars Garten .
