Hans Gerlach (politician, 1919)

Hans Gerlach (born December 23, 1919 in Stettin ; † December 4, 1986 ) was a German SED functionary. Among other things, he was the second secretary of the SED district leadership in Neubrandenburg .

Life

Gerlach, son of a worker, learned the trade of cabinet maker . In the Second World War he served as a soldier in the Wehrmacht from 1939 . In 1945 he was taken prisoner by the Soviets . In 1949 he returned to Germany. He worked as an occupational safety inspector and secretary of the National Front in Löcknitz and Ueckermünde . In 1951 he joined the SED. From 1951 to 1953 he was an instructor, then department head or secretary of the SED district leadership Ueckermünde, from 1954 to 1956 first secretary of the SED district leadership Demmin .

From 1956 to 1959 Gerlach studied at the party college of the CPSU in Moscow , graduating as a social scientist . 1959/1960 he was first secretary of the SED district leadership Ueckermünde . From 1960 to 1964 he was the second secretary of the SED district leadership in Neubrandenburg and was responsible for organization and management. Then he was second or first secretary of the SED district leadership in Neubrandenburg in 1964 and a member of the SED district leadership in Neubrandenburg until 1967 . Later Gerlach worked in the VEB Sirokko-Gerätewerk Neubrandenburg .
