Hans Hermann Münchmeyer (born March 15, 1941 in Hamburg-Rissen ) is a businessman , private banker and investment advisor in Hamburg .

family

Münchmeyer comes from an originally Lower Saxony , now long -established Hamburg Münchmeyer family of merchants and private bankers since 1816 . He is the son of the businessman and banker Alwin Münchmeyer the Elder. J. (1908–1990) as well as by Gertrud Nolte (* 1914).

Life

Until the end of 1983 Münchmeyer was for more than 15 years, most recently as the successor to his father, one of the personally liable partners of the private bank " Schröder, Münchmeyer, Hengst & Co. " in Hamburg, which ran into difficulties in 1983 . Because of his joint responsibility for the near-collapse of the bank (1983), the Frankfurt am Main regional court sentenced him on January 16, 1986 to a suspended prison sentence of one year and nine months.

Münchmeyer later became a managing partner of the investment company MCF Münchmeyer Corporate Finance , which advised on the purchase and sale of companies.

He is committed to environmental protection as a board member in the German Working Group for Environmentally Conscious Management (BAUM) and, until 1997, in the ecological tax reform association .

He is or was u. a. Chairman of the supervisory board of the biopharmaceutical company Cardion AG , which is active in stem cell research . He was also a member of the supervisory board of the Hamburg multiplex cinema chain CinemaxX . He is currently chairman of the supervisory board of the Hamburg advertising agency Jung von Matt AG .

In 2003 Münchmeyer was a member of the Citizens' Convention . During the founding phase, he was its organizer for the Hamburg area.
