Hans Krenn (born January 18, 1932 in Innsbruck , Tyrol , † June 16, 2007 in Vienna ) was an Austrian artist. From an artistic point of view, it can be classified in the context of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism .

Career

Hans Krenn was born in Innsbruck in 1932, graduated from high school in 1952 and, from 1954, studied architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. After graduating in 1957, he traveled to Scandinavia and stayed in Nairobi . After an assistantship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia , Krenn returned to Austria in 1962 . From 1970 to 1971 he was appointed professor for painting and printmaking at the Technological University of Florida / Orlando. In 1973 he bought a farmhouse in the Waldviertel (Frankenreith near Horn), which served as a second home and studio. From 1978 he was a teacher at the Camillo Sitte Lehranstalt HTBLuVA WIEN III. Until 2007 he made small-format works (mixed media) and small sculptures. Hans Krenn died shortly after a trip to Asia in June 2007 and was buried at the Neustift cemetery in Vienna. His son Florian Krenn took over the administration of the artistic estate.
