Hans Michael Ockenfels

Hans Michael Ockenfels (born August 6, 1966 in Bonn ) is a German dermatologist and allergist . Since July 1, 1997 he has been head of the Skin and Allergy Clinic at the Hanau Clinic .

Life

Ockenfels studied human medicine from 1985 to 1991, first at the University of Ulm and then at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz , completing this degree with a doctorate on the subject of "Influence of medicinal provocators of psoriasis on lymphocyte proliferation".

After completing his doctorate, Ockenfels was a research assistant at the University Dermatology Clinic in Essen . There he continued to work in a research group on the development and pathomechanism of psoriasis and, after his habilitation in 2000, he obtained the venia legendi ( teaching license ) and the appointment as a private lecturer . In 2005 he was re- qualified at the Mannheim Medical Faculty of the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and in 2010 he was appointed an extraordinary professor .

On July 1, 1997, Ockenfels took the position of chief doctor at the skin and allergy clinic at the Hanau Clinic. He acquired additional qualifications in proctology and drug tumor therapy from the Hesse State Medical Association, as well as laser medicine and medical cosmetology from the DDA. Since 1999 Ockenfels has been the professional policy spokesman for questions relating to attending physicians for the Association of German Dermatologists (BvDD), and he is also a member of the S3 guideline group “Psoriasis”. 

Since 1986 he has been a member of the Catholic student association AV Suebo-Danubia Ulm. Later he became a member of the VKDSt Hasso-Rhenania Mainz .

Act 

Ockenfels first became known through his work on psoriasis (psoriasis) and his work in laser medicine and further through his prevention concepts against skin cancer / skin aging in athletes. In 2002, the therapy of psoriasis using excimer laser was presented with him in today's broadcast of the ZDF, followed by over 20 programs on laser medicine issues in RTL, SAT1, HR and the like. a.

In April 2010, Die Welt am Sonntag reported one of its studies on the increased risk of skin cancer among golfers. Since then he has been developing a prevention program for top and amateur athletes against skin cancer and photoaging. In 2016, Ockenfels was appointed consultant physician to the World Association of Modern Pentathlon in the IOC, Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM).

In the tabloid media, Ockenfels is considered a celebrity doctor.

Ockenfels is chairman of the anti-doping commission of the UIPM.
