Hans Mondorf

Hans Mondorf (born September 30, 1947 in Halle an der Saale ) is a German diplomat . He was Consul General for Germany in Great Britain and China.

Life

After graduating from the Ludwig-Georgs-Gymnasium in Darmstadt , he began to study law at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main in 1966 and stayed in Mexico between 1970 and 1971 to study archeology . After his return, he passed the first state examination in law in 1971 and, after completing his legal preparatory service in Darmstadt and Frankfurt am Main and passing the second state examination, he completed postgraduate studies in indology at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg from 1974 to 1979 .

In 1979 he joined the Foreign Service and, after completing his career examination, was employed in the Political, Legal and Consular Departments at the Embassy in Pakistan from 1981 to 1984 , before becoming a consultant for the NATO troop statute in the Legal Department of the Foreign Office was in Bonn . After working from 1987 to 1990 as an employee for culture and consular affairs at the embassy in Peru , he was a consultant for the Andean countries in the Department for Latin America of the Foreign Office and, between 1994 and 1997, deputy head of the department responsible for the Vienna Conventions , Privileges and Immunities Section of the legal department of the Federal Foreign Office.

In 1997, Mondorf became Consul General in Manchester and was responsible for Northern Ireland , North Wales , North England and the Midlands and then from 2000 to 2003 Consul General in Edinburgh with responsibility for Scotland and northern England. In 2003 he was appointed ambassador to Turkmenistan .

From 2008 until his retirement in 2012, Hans Mondorf was Consul General in Chengdu .
