Hans de With (born May 21, 1932 in Gera ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 1974 to 1982 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister of Justice .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in Coburg in 1951 , de With studied law and economics in Erlangen and Cornell ( USA ), which he completed in 1955 with the first state examination and in 1960 with the second state examination . In 1959 he received his doctorate as Dr. jur. at the University of Erlangen . From 1960 he was then a court assessor in Bamberg , from 1962 a public prosecutor and from 1966 to 1969 finally a regional judge . In 1983 he was admitted to the bar.

Hans de With is married and has two children.

Political party

De With has been a member of the SPD since 1962. He was chairman of the SPD sub-district Bamberg-Forchheim (since 1991 honorary chairman) and was also a member of the board of the SPD Franconia . From 1966 to 1969 de With was a member of the Bamberg City Council. In 1982 he ran unsuccessfully for the office of Lord Mayor in Bamberg.

MP

From 1969 to 1994 Hans de With was a member of the German Bundestag . From 1971 to 1972 he was deputy chairman of the Pan International Committee of Inquiry and from 1972 to 1974 chairman of the committee on election review, immunity and rules of procedure.

From 1991 to 1994 he was deputy chairman of the Bundestag special committee on protection of unborn life and also chairman of the legal policy working group of the SPD parliamentary group .

Hans de With has always entered the Bundestag via the Bavarian State List .

Public offices

On May 16, 1974, de With was appointed Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Justice in the federal government led by Chancellor Helmut Schmidt . After Helmut Kohl was elected Federal Chancellor, he left office on October 4, 1982.

From mid-1999 until January 2014, Hans de With was a full member of the G 10 commission , which reviews and approves surveillance measures under Article 10 Act . In the 16th and 17th legislative periods of the Bundestag (2005-2013) de With was chairman of the commission.
