Hansjürgen Piel

Hansjürgen Piel (born December 1, 1962 in Hamburg ) is a German television journalist .

Life

Piel studied history , political science and computer science at the University of Hamburg . At the same time he worked as an author for city magazines and daily newspapers. After several months of internship at Südwestfunk in Baden-Baden and the hr in Frankfurt / Main , from 1987 he worked as a freelancer for NDR radio, various other ARD broadcasters and the Associated Press news agency in Hamburg. In 1988 he completed his studies with the thesis The dispute over the second German television program 1957-1961 .

In 1997 he took over the moderation of the "ZDF Länder Report", a daily news magazine and forerunner of today's program " Drehscheibe " in Mainz . In weekly alternation with Günther Neufeldt, he also moderated the late- night news “ tonight ” at this time .

Since May 1998 Piel has been editor , author and reporter in the Berlin regional studio of the ZDF with a focus on business, technology and traffic, and in 2005 he was deputy chairman. In 2006 he worked on the ZDF documentary about Berlin's new turnstile from the major construction site to the main train station .
