biography

From 1990 to 1994 Hapé Schreiberhuber studied visual media design at the University of Artistic and Industrial Design in Linz under the director Janusz Kondratiuk . From 1994 to 1996 he studied painting at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts with Ralf Kerbach and Steffen Fischer. During his studies he played as a guitarist for the rock band Unica . In 1994 the ORF Österreichischer Rundfunk produced its concept album, which was also composed and arranged, Split Vision . He graduated in 1996 with a Master of Arts (Mag. Art.) From Wolfram Hänsch (Dresden University of Fine Arts) and Janusz Kondratiuk. Schreiberhuber received scholarships in 2001 and 2002 at the Egon Schiele Art Centrum Krumau, and in 2004 at the Facultat de Belles Arts de la Universitat de Barcelona.

In his performances he combines painting, also using digital technology, with music. His “concert painting” is created simultaneously with music in front of an audience with musicians such as Nami Ejiri, Andrij Prosorow and Yuliya Lebedenko. Schreiberhuber founded the Styraburg Festival Steyr in 2007 , the Styraburg Ensemble in 2010, the Steyr Art Week and the Styraburg Art and Culture Association in 2011 . His portrayal of the naked Maria Magdalena under the cross, which was exhibited in Steyr Castle, was hotly debated.

He works as a freelance painter , draftsman , graphic artist , performance artist , actor , artistic director and teacher at a vocational school.
