Harald von Korflesch

Harald Friedrich Otto von Korflesch (born February 8, 1962 in Cologne as Harald Friedrich Otto von Kortzfleisch ) is a German economist , business IT specialist and university professor .

Life

After studying business administration at the University of Cologne , von Korflesch was assistant to Erich Frese at the seminar for general business administration and organizational theory at this university . He completed his doctorate in 1993 on the subject of “ Computer-Aided Organizational Design” with distinction.

Harald von Korflesch is married, has a son and a daughter and lives in Bonn .

In January 2011 it internationalized its name and is now called von Korflesch (formerly von Kortzfleisch).

From October 2016 to January 2019 he was Vice President of the University of Koblenz-Landau on the Koblenz campus.

Research projects and university professors

After completing his doctorate, Harald von Korflesch took on various project management positions at the Chair of Information Systems at the University of Kassel , funded by the DFG , the Hessian Ministry of Economics and the BMBF , together with Udo Winand.

From August 2000 to January 2002, together with Norbert Szyperski , University of Cologne, he led a research project on the subject of “Bio4C cooperation engineering for the biotechnology industry”, which was funded by the Industrial Research Foundation under the number S 506. In 2003 von Kortzfleisch completed his habilitation at the University of Kassel with a thesis on the subject of “Organizational balancing of information and communication technologies ”.

From 2003 to 2007 von Korflesch was a substitute professor at the University of Koblenz-Landau . Since 2007 he has been a professor at the Institute for Management , Faculty 4 Computer Science , University of Koblenz-Landau. His working group deals with information and innovation management , entrepreneurship and organizational design .

International projects

Following his doctorate, von Korflesch spent his postdoctoral year as a fellow of Allianz Versicherungs AG at the Sloan School of Management of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA , with Michael S. Scott Morton. In 1997 he was invited as a visiting researcher at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), School of Knowledge Science, by Ikujiro Nonaka. From August 1999 to mid-2000 he was a Fritz Thyssen Foundation scholar to conduct a study as a visiting scholar at the Department of Information Systems, Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University, in collaboration with Henry C. Lucas, Jr. Topic "Knowledge Communication in the New Media Industry in New York City ".

Honors, academic memberships and editors

Harald von Korflesch is the winner of the second "Innovation Prize 1997" of the "treffpunkt @ rbeit" initiative and was nominated in 1998 for the "Eisenhower Exchange Fellowship Program 1998". He is a member of the Academy of Management, the MIT Club of Germany, the Strategic Management Society, the Schmalenbach-Gesellschaft für Betriebswirtschaft eV and co-editor of e-JOV, The Electronic Journal on Organizational Virtualness.

Research priorities

The research interests of Korflesch are in the areas of information management , innovation management, entrepreneurship, organization , Electronic Business / Electronic Commerce , Innovative technology industries (including biotechnology), media economics and media management , online training and development , organizational design (including organizational impact of new media, information and communication technologies), virtualization , knowledge management . He is also a visiting researcher in the business research group Innovative Technologies at the University of Cologne under Norbert Szyperski .
