The Hardwasser is a left-hand or western tributary of the Wiera , which runs in the area of the Schwalm-Eder district and the Marburg-Biedenkopf district , both in Hesse ( Germany ).

The source area of the brook is in the community of Gilserberg between the districts of Itzenhain and Winterscheid , and the Hardwasser initially flows in a south-easterly direction towards Bellnhausen . It passes the place on its northern flank, whereby the Hardwasser swings in an easterly direction and absorbs the Katzenbach flowing from the south side of Bellnhausen. Between Itzenhain and Appenhain it swings south and crosses under the county road 99. Shortly before the state road 3242 it turns to the southeast and then flows past Mengsberg . Shortly after the iron mill near Mengsberg, the Hardwasser swings in a southerly direction, only to flow again in a southeasterly direction shortly before the Hinter Berg . It maintains this direction until it flows into the Wiera bei Wiera .

In total, the Hardwasser covers around 5.26 kilometers with a difference in altitude of around 110 meters.
