Harrisleehof

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Harrisleehof (more rarely: Harrislee-Hof ; Danish Harreslevgaard ) is a place in the municipality of Harrislee . The southern part of the settlement belongs to Flensburg - Friesischer Berg .

location

Harrisleehof is located on Ochsenweg , to the south, a little away from Harrislee, directly on the municipality border with Flensburg. Directly west of Harrisleehof is the foundation land Schäferhaus and east of the Marienhölzung belonging to Flensburg . The southern part of the settlement is already part of the Friesischer Berg district. In the southern neighborhood of Harrisleehof are the Schäferhaus and Magdalenenhof . Both the Weiche district and the city center of Flensburg, about 4.5 km away, can be reached via Ochsenweg and the adjacent streets . Directly at Harrisleehof is "the Snaff", a small stream. There is also a small pond right next to the aforementioned stream.

history

The age of the small town of Harrisleehof is unclear. But an old barrow at least testifies that people lived in this area centuries ago ( Lage ). The apparently eponymous small village Harrislee has been documented since the 14th century. In the 18th century there were still the Flensburg boundary stones 46 to 49 near Harrisleehof, which marked the border with Flensburg, but they can no longer be found today.

Harrisleehof has had a farm for many decades. which has apparently been owned by the Jessen family for generations. Since 1856 there was also a brickworks ( Lage ) directly west of the courtyard , which processed calcareous clay into yellow bricks. Brick production on the Flensburg Fjord had gained in importance since the Middle Ages , so that more than 70 brick factories existed in the heyday. In the municipality of Harrislee brickworks existed in Wassersleben , Karlsberg , all around Harrisleefeld and on Ochsenweg near Harrisleehof. The aforementioned "brickworks on Ochsenweg" is said to have been owned by the Jessen family at the beginning of the 20th century. Harrisleehof has been on maps of the area since the 1920s at the latest, when it already consisted of more than 10 buildings.

Harrisleehof originally belonged to the parish of Handewitt . A chandelier hanging in the Handewitter Church still reminds of this today. This first chandelier in front of the choir of the church has the following inscription: “H. Mahler at Harrisleehof, Christmas 1894 I am the light of the world ”. In the 20th century, the church affiliation of Harrisleehof changed, since 1928 Harrislee has owned the Church of Reconciliation .

At the end of the war, a large number of refugees and displaced persons had moved to the Flensburg area (see population development in Flensburg ). The community of Harrislee was also affected, so that many Harrislee had to make part of their living space available. In addition, makeshift refugee camps were set up. Among other things, a "Harrislee-Hof refugee camp" was set up, which was apparently somewhat larger, because until 1950 it had its own camp school. In 1950 the refugee children were sent to the school on Holmberg ( Lage ). The warehouse is likely to have closed sometime in the 1950s, as enough new living space had been created in Harrislee by then.

In 1970 the "brick factory on Ochsenweg" was closed. In the same year the factory facilities, a villa that served as the home of the brick master and the associated workers' houses were demolished. The last one to break was the Zieglei chimney on November 25, 1970. The area at the corner of Ochsenweg and Harrisleer Umgehungsstraße, where the clay for the bricks was extracted, was later used by the Flensburg public utilities as a coal reserve for times of crisis.

In today's time

Establishment of the Harrisleehof landfill on the edge of Marienhölzung, September 2014

In 2014/15 the "Harrisleehof landfill" was created on the site for low-level construction rubble (without asbestos) from the districts of North Friesland, Schleswig-Flensburg and the city of Flensburg. The landfill is designed for a service life of 30 years. At the end of this time, a hill made of one million tons of rubble will have been created on the approximately four hectare site, which will help shape the landscape as a green hill. The operator of the landfill will ensure aftercare for a further three decades, with a deposit in the form of a bank guarantee. The water that runs off the landfill floor is analyzed throughout the entire period and, if it is not polluted, disposed of in sewers or streams after it has passed through a receiving water .

Harrisleehof today consists of more than 20 buildings. Apparently only the house numbers Ochsenweg 1 to 4 were assigned to these houses on the Harrisleer side. The farm of Harrisleehof, with associated cattle breeding and dairy farming , in Ochsenweg No. 1, still belongs to the Jessens. House numbers 2, 3 and 4 were used for the houses on the street that used to lead to the brickworks. The address Ochsenweg is apparently no longer in use for this Harrislee area of the Ochsenweg. The higher addresses of the Harrisleer section of the Ochsenweg are further north. In the Flensburg area of the settlement, only the numbers 300 and 302 were assigned. At the address Ochsenweg 302, for example, there is apparently a cup distributor. as well as to find construction companies. The address Ochsenweg 301 is further south, on the edge of Schäferhaus ( Lage ).
