Hartmut Ernst

Hartmut Ernst (born September 2, 1949 in Bayreuth ) is a German computer scientist and physicist , retired university professor and entrepreneur.

Act

Ernst studied physics at the Technical University of Munich from 1970 to 1979 , where he did his doctorate in the field of nuclear solid-state physics . He then did research at particle accelerators in Chicago , Jerusalem , Darmstadt and at the Technical University of Munich . Then he worked as development manager in a Munich electronics company until 1986. He is married and has two children.

From 1986 to 2015 he worked as a professor for technical computer science at the Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences . There he was Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science from 2000 to 2006 and Vice President of the University from 2006 to 2009.

In 1987 Ernst founded the company vidisys GmbH together with Jürgen Petzold. In 2001, in-situ GmbH was founded, which he managed as sole owner and managing director until 2015. In 2015 in-situ GmbH was incorporated into Indus Holding AG, but Ernst still holds shares and works as a consultant. From 2005 until the company was sold to an investor in 2014, he was also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Teracue AG.

Ernst is a member of the Pirate Party Germany . In the 2013 federal election he ran in the Rosenheim constituency and received 2.3% of the vote. In the state elections in Bavaria in 2018 , he ran for the pirates in the Rosenheim-Ost constituency and received 0.6% of the first votes. Until 2012 he was also a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen .

Ernst is the author of over 60 specialist publications, including four specialist books and 8 patents.
