Hartmut Petzold

Hartmut Petzold (born July 10, 1944 ) was a curator for computer science , automation and time measurement at the Deutsches Museum in Munich .

Live and act

He studied electrical engineering and history at the TU Berlin and initially acquired the academic degree Dipl.-Ing. ( Communications engineering ), in 1983 he was awarded the title of Dr.-Ing. In 1983 on the basis of the dissertation (which was published in a shortened version in 1985 and fundamental to German computer history ) - a historical study of their manufacture and use from the German Empire to the Federal Republic . PhD . He was the editor of the journal Technikgeschichte . From October 1, 1988 to June 30, 2009, Petzold was curator for the IT and Automation and Time Measurement departments at the Deutsches Museum in Munich, and from 1989 to 2004 he was a lecturer at the Technical University of Munich .
