Hard Grove Township is located in the southwest of Ashtabula County in the far northeastern Ohio, is in the north about 25 km from Lake Erie and adjacent clockwise to the townships: Trumbull Township , Morgan Township , Rome Township , Orwell Township , Windsor Township and in Geauga County on the townships of Huntsburg Township , Montville Township and Thompson Township .

The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two people are elected in the year after the presidential election and one in the year before.
