Pierpont Township is located in the east of Ashtabula County in the extreme northeast of Ohio, is about 20 km from Lake Erie in the north , borders Pennsylvania in the east and the townships in a clockwise direction: Monroe Township , Beaver Township in Crawford County (Pennsylvania), Conneaut Township in Erie County, Pennsylvania, Richmond Township , Dorset Township , Denmark Township and Sheffield Township .

The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two people are elected in the year after the presidential election and one in the year before.
