Hartwig "Hardy" Rudolz (born August 26, 1955 in Börnsen ) is a German singer , actor , director and choreographer .

Life

After a private acting training with a state degree, he completed a singing and dance training in Vienna , Berlin and Hamburg, among others . He made his debut as Principal Chanteur at the Lido (Varieté) Theater in Paris . Further stage engagements took him to the Theater des Westens . The musical roles in Hamburg include the cat boss Munkustrap in Cats and the lover Raoul and the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera . For this role he was awarded the Golden Audience Lion. As Inspector Javert in the German premiere of Les Miserables , Cameron Mackintosh brought him to the Palace Theater in London.

In addition to many other engagements, guest performances at the State Theater on Gärtnerplatz in Munich and the Mecklenburg State Theater in Schwerin have been recorded. In Schwerin he appeared from 2007 as Johnny Kröger in the stage adaptation of Helmut Käutner's feature film Große Freiheit No. 7 and from 2010 as Alexander Oberholzer in Paul Burkhard's comedy Das Feuerwerk . Rudolz also worked as a choreographer for the production of Große Freiheit No. 7 . In Munich he could be seen from 2010 as Henry Higgins in the musical My Fair Lady by Frederick Loewe and Alan Jay Lerner and as Hermann Preysing in the musical Grand Hotel . He was also responsible for the choreography of the production of Grand Hotel .

In addition to his theater activities, he also directs specially developed and staged musical shows, programs for gala events, events and concerts, and lends his voice to characters in Sesame Street . In 1984 he was seen in the fairy tale film Snow White and Rose Red in the role of Prince Engelbert. He also worked in a few episodes of the TV series Stadtklinik and Rote Rosen .
