Tommy and his friends only have two things on their minds during their high school years: women and music. While his friends always have success at getting hold of girls, Tommy is unlucky. So he is walking sadly along the beach again when he meets a beautiful mature lady with Diane, the mother of his best friend. And she only has one thing in mind: 16-year-old boys. And she finally wants to make a man out of Tommy.

The film was originally shot under the title Growing Pains in 1979 . After films like Class , with the role pattern of older women and young men, were successful in the early 1980s, the film was released with newly shot sex scenes that were not played by Joan Collins under the title Homework . However, this only after Collins became extremely successful with her television series The Denver Clan .
The film had its world premiere on August 27, 1982 and grossed just over 2.9 million US dollars. In Germany the film was released directly on VHS in 1984 . After its television premiere on June 10, 1994 on RTL , the film ran on ZDF in 2004, 2007, 2012 and 2018 .
