geography

Hausen is located in northern Hesse, southwest of the core community of Oberaula am Häuserbach. The place is framed by elevations that belong to the foothills of the Knüllgebirge : the Döhnberg, the cherry forest and the robber forest. The state roads 3157 and 3294 meet in the village .

The place had a stop on the 1907 built railway line Treysa - Niederaula - Hersfeld . The railway line has now been shut down and has been converted into a cycle path that leads from Riebelsdorf to Kirchheim and is to be expanded further in the next few years.

The Aulatal holiday park is located in the northwest of Hausen .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1160 as de Husen . The current name of Hausen did not appear until 1585 . The castle on the western edge of the village has been in the possession of the von Dörnberg family since October 30, 1463 .

Hausen was the first community to merge with Oberaula on April 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
