Friedigerode is a district of the municipality Oberaula in the north Hessian Schwalm-Eder district .

geography

Friedigerode is located in northern Hesse in the Knüllgebirge north of the main town on Hornsbach and Eckeröder Bach and is bounded directly by the Schwarzenborn military training area. The state road 3157 runs east of the place, the county road 122 through the place.

history

The ending of the place name -rode suggests a clearing settlement . The small village was first mentioned in writing in a document from the Spieskappel monastery from 1231. A school was built in 1955, and in 1964 a village community center with laundry and freezer was built.

On January 1, 1974, the previously independent community Friedigerode the course was municipal reform in Hesse powerful state law in the community Oberaula incorporated .

On June 6th, 2008 Friedigerode won first place in the Hessian competition Dolles Dorf .
