Haxäng is a village ( småort ) in the Swedish municipality of Östersund in the province of Jämtlands län . The place is about fifteen kilometers southeast of Östersund on Lake Locknesjön.
It is located between the Sundsvall – Storlien railway line and the Inlandsbahn and between European routes 45 and 14 , which meet a few kilometers north at Brunflo . The former Haxäng stop on the Inlandsbahn west of the village is out of service; However, there is a wood loading area there.
The Statistiska centralbyrån identified the place until 2005 as småort under the name Haxäng , which refers to the northernmost part of the settlement, but since 2010 as Lockne after the southeastern part of the village, which extends in a narrow strip over the soldering jaw between the lake and the railway line extends towards Sundsvall. It is not to be confused with the eponymous church village near Lockne kyrka on the opposite, western side of Locknesjön.
