Heather De Lisle

Heather Anne De Lisle (born August 17, 1976 in Landstuhl ) is a freelance American television presenter . Among other things, she appears regularly in the English-language TV program of Deutsche Welle ( DW-TV ) and in political talk shows.

Life

De Lisle is the daughter of radio presenter Rik De Lisle and grew up mostly in what was then West Berlin . At the age of 15 she presented a radio program for the first time on the American Forces Network Berlin and at the age of 18 she was on television for the first time. She studied at the University of Maryland and attended the SRT - School for Broadcast Technology (today: ARD-ZDF-Medienakademie ) in Nuremberg.

When, after the fall of the wall and in the course of turning the US military radio ceased its service, she moved to the private sector. Since 1995 she has been working as a freelancer for Deutsche Welle; first as a weather announcer , later as a sports presenter and since 2001 as a news presenter. Since she was seven, she has also been working as a voice actress for film, television and computer games. Since 2000 she has been reporting from the German capital as a foreign correspondent for ABC News Radio in New York.

De Lisle, who describes herself as a Republican , was a regular studio guest in the press club , in the international morning pint and on the news channel N24 . In connection with the US presidential election in November 2008, her work as a journalist made her a popular guest on various talk shows . In September 2010 her first book was published with the title "Amiland - A polemic for the world power USA", in which she criticized the turmoil surrounding Obama in Germany and took a position for the " American way of life ".

De Lisle lives in Berlin, is married to a German and has one son. In December 2011 she suffered a stroke and has suffered from aphasia ever since . She also took part in a study by the Charité .
