Hedda Heuser-Schreiber
Hedda Heuser-Schreiber , b. Demme (born October 16, 1926 in Cologne ; † May 29, 2007 in Bamberg ) was a German doctor , journalist and politician ( FDP ).
Life and work
After graduation in Schwabach Heuser writer took a degree in medicine at the universities of Munich and Dusseldorf on which it 1951 with the medical state examination and awarded the degree of Dr. med. finished. Married to the radiologist Wolfgang Heuser, she trained in the field of radiology and worked in Cologne hospitals. She later worked as a doctor in a general practice in Bensberg , then in an X-ray practice in Bergisch Gladbach .
Heuser-Schreiber worked as a freelance medical journalist on radio and television since 1965. She mainly devoted herself to health, social and women's issues. From 1969 to 1981 she was a member of the Advisory Board of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation . From 1973 to 1989 she was President of the German Medical Association and subsequently became its Honorary President. In addition, she was a member of the Federal Health Council from 1974 and from 1969 to 1977 a member of the board of the Hartmann Association .
Political party
Heuser-Schreiber, whose stepfather Herbert Schmauser was one of the co-founders of the FDP in Middle Franconia, joined the FDP in 1946 at the age of 19, to which she was a member until the end of her life and was at times chair of the Federal Committee for Social Policy. She was also involved in the Association of Liberal Academics .
MPs
Heuser-Schreiber was a member of the council of the city of Bensberg from 1958 to 1962 and was most recently chair of the FDP parliamentary group. She was a member of the German Bundestag from December 6, 1962, when she replaced the deceased MP Walther Kühn , until 1965, and from March 11, 1968, when she replaced the retired MP Josef Effertz , until 1969. In both electoral terms she entered parliament via the state list of the FDP North Rhine-Westphalia . In the Bundestag she mainly advocated a reform of Section 218 of the Criminal Code . As a representative of the liberal professions, she was also a member of the Economic and Social Committee of the European Community from 1972 to 1987 . In 1972 she was also elected to the local council of Oberaudorf , where she had since moved.
