Heide Barmeyer

Heide Barmeyer-Hartlieb (born October 19, 1940 in Detmold ) is a German historian. Her main research interests are modern history and the regional history of Westphalia and Lippe .

Life

Heide Barmeyer was born on October 19, 1940 in Detmold. Her father was the high school teacher Ernst Barmeyer (1911–1945). She attended the Detmold girls' high school and graduated from high school in 1960. She then studied history, English and sociology in Münster, Tübingen and Göttingen from 1960 to 1966 . In 1966 she passed her state examination, in 1969 she did her doctorate at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen under Wilhelm Treue with the dissertation Andreas Hermes and the organization of German agriculture: Christian farmers' associations, Reichslandsbund, Green Front, Reichsnährstand 1928-1933 .

From 1970 Barmeyer worked as a research assistant, academic counselor (1971) and senior counselor (1975) at the University of Hanover , where she also worked in 1977 with the work of Hanover's integration into the Prussian state. Annexation and administrative integration 1866–1868 qualified as a professor . Since 1982 she was an adjunct professor . She retired in 2006 .

She was married to the historian Alfred Hartlieb von Wallthor from 1979 until his death in 2011 .

Heide Barmeyer founded the Karl Doerth Foundation ( Barmeyer-Doerth Foundation since 2012 ) at the Leopoldinum Gymnasium on the basis of a will in 1997 in order to promote and reward students with special achievements.

Barmeyer has been the deputy chairwoman of the Lippe Heimatbund since 2004 . Furthermore, she is u. a. Member of the Historical Commission for Lower Saxony and Bremen , the Historical Association for Lower Saxony , the Prussian Historical Commission , the Working Group on the History of Prussia and the Natural Science and Historical Association for the State of Lippe .
