Heike Albrecht (born March 1, 1991 in Düren ) is a German deaf athlete from Selhausen in the municipality of Niederzier in the Düren district , North Rhine-Westphalia .
life and career
Albrecht has received many prestigious awards in deaf tennis. In 2007 she finished second in the world rankings. Heike Albrecht started playing tennis at TC Inden when he was seven . She attended the Niederzier / Merzenich comprehensive school and graduated from high school there in 2011 . She is currently (2014) studying in Munich .
In July 2015 Albrecht took part in the first Deaf World Championships in Nottingham , England , and reached the semi-finals in singles and doubles with Verena Fleckenstein and in mixed with Urs Breitenberger without losing a set. Due to an injury to Albrecht, the double semifinals were canceled when the score was 6: 7, 1: 2, the remaining semifinals and the third-place games had to be surrendered without a fight .
Albrecht only hears noises from 110 decibels . She starts for the TC Grün-Weiß Aachen .

Honors
- On October 31, 2008, Heike Albrecht was awarded the special prize in deaf sport among the juniors at the "Festival of Encounters" organized by the Deutsche Sporthilfe Foundation in Düsseldorf .
- In 2013, she was awarded the title of Sportswoman of the Year by the Düren district council .
- In May 2014, she received the Silver Laurel Leaf for the third time , which Federal President Joachim Gauck awards as the highest award for athletes in Germany.
