The Holy Cross Church in Kreuzpullach ( district Oberbiberg of the municipality of Oberhaching in the district of Munich ) is a pilgrimage church built around 1709/10 on the site of a previous building mentioned in a document in 778 . As a branch church, the church belongs to the parish of St. Bartholomäus in Deisenhofen . The pilgrimage takes place in the form of a petition for the feast of the finding of the cross (May 3rd).

construction

Church with beneficiary house

The church, which has been renovated since 1993, is a hall building with sloping corners with rounded niches that begin on the west side only above the gallery, a retracted choir on a horseshoe-shaped floor plan and a roof turret-type tower incorporated into it, the upper part of which forms an octagon , on which a pointed domed dome sits, was donated by the court lord of Kreuzpullach, the court chamberlain Petrus von Lehner, and by the court mason parlier Philipp Jakob Köglsperger the Elder. Ä. (1673–1730) or by Giovanni Antonio Viscardi (1645–1713). The interior is structured by fluted pilasters that support composite capitals . The choir has domed vaults, which are closed by stitch caps. The nave is vaulted with a flat barrel vault. The church is described as "outstanding due to its unusual floor plan, the building details and rich furnishings from the country churches in the area".

Furnishing

Frescoes

The frescoes by Johann Georg Bergmüller show the resurrection of Christ in the choir and the Assumption of Mary in the nave. On the balustrade of the gallery there are depictions of Ecce homo , the carrying of the cross and the crucifixion (designated JGB 1710, also interpreted as the Munich plasterer Johann Georg Bader).

Piece

The stucco, ascribed to Johann Georg Bader, shows predominantly strong three-dimensional foliage motifs.

painting

The high altar painting depicts the crucifixion of Christ. It is a copy of an original by Johann Carl Loth that was formerly in the Tegernsee monastery church and is now in the Garsten Abbey (Upper Austria). On the north side altar a painting Denying Petri (inscribed "Joan Georg Berckmüller, 1710"), on the south a penitent Magdalena.

Other equipment

Angels with instruments of suffering; Crucifix between Maria and Johannes, carved shrine group of a winged altar from the previous building, inscribed 1513 and two painted altar wings (around 1470). Organ positive around 1650 with four stops. Epitaph after 1730.

Benefit house

To the east of the church (and forming an assembly group with it) is the two-story beneficiary's house , also built around 1710 as a small castle for Joseph Martin Cleer , which was partially demolished in 1862, rebuilt in 1916 and renovated from 1963 on the outside. It has a steep gable roof .

Trivia

In 1989 the bells were rung on the Christmas CD "Jetzt zünd't ma d'Kerzen o" with Gustl Bayrhammer . A longer scene from episode 6 (chestnuts from the fire) of the series "Okay SIR" was filmed inside (Youtube).
