Heimat 3 - Chronicle of a turning point is the third part of the Heimat trilogy by director Edgar Reitz . The film was shot in 2002/2003 and consists of six parts, each 100 to 133 minutes long.

action

This part of the trilogy takes place again mostly in the Hunsrück and brings the people from Heimat and Heimat 2 back together. The starting point is the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 with the social developments that followed in the 1990s. The narrative arc closes with the year 1999 and the turn of the millennium.

Locations

The main venue is the so-called Günderrodehaus in Oberwesel , which Karoline von Günderrode never lived in ( location ).

In Berlin , the film was shot on Gneiststrasse (June 2002) , among other places .

backgrounds

The German first broadcast in six episodes was broadcast from December 15 to 29, 2004 on Das Erste . Instead, the episodes were shortened slightly to heavily (40 minutes in episode 4) to 90 minutes each. In other countries, for example in the Netherlands and Great Britain, the uncut version was shown, which was also shown in some German cinemas and was released on DVD.
