Local history museum Bochum

The local history museum of the city of Bochum was opened in 1919 in the former knight's castle Haus Rechen . The head was the school principal of the Weilenbrinkschule and first city archivist Bernhard Kleff (1876–1948), who had started collecting historical exhibits for school lessons in 1910.

House rake was destroyed in World War II. The Bochumer Kammerspiele are located here today .

The remaining collection came into the responsibility of the municipal art gallery founded in 1921 in 1960 , which initially exhibited it at Haus Kemnade . Today it is in the city ​​archive - Bochum Center for City History .
