Heinrich Christian Graf von Attems-Heiligenkreuz (born October 13, 1858 in Ödenburg , † January 12, 1937 in Salzburg ) was the last Austrian KuK state president in the Duchy of Carniola and a privy councilor.

Life

Heinrich Christian Graf von Attems -Heiligenkreuz was born as the son of Anton August Paul Graf von Attems-Heiligenkreuz (1819–1909) and Josefa Countess Mistruzzi-Freysingher (1830–1909). Heinrich Graf Attems married Maria Countess Ceschi (1866–1922) in Trento on June 8, 1896. In 1880 he entered the civil service in Laibach . From September 26, 1890 to March 31, 1894 he was district captain in the Luttenberg district , from March 31, 1894 to 1896 district captain in the Leibnitz district from June 4, 1896 to April 24, 1901 district captain in the Cilli district . and from 1901 to 1902 district captain in Gorizia . In 1911 he was appointed Vice President of Trieste by the Ministry of the Interior. From April 18, 1916 to October 31, 1918 he became the last state president of the Duchy of Carniola.

His brother Marius Anton von Attems-Heiligenkreuz (1862–1947) was the last Austrian KuK governor of Dalmatia and his brother Viktor Karl Graf von Attems-Heiligenkreuz (1864–1947) was the last president of the Austrian maritime authority in Trieste and the Komtur des Franz Joseph Order.
