Frederick Francis Campbell

Frederick Francis Campbell (born August 5, 1943 in Elmira ) is an American clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Columbus .

Life

The Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis , John Robert Roach , ordained him a priest on May 31, 1980 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Auxiliary Bishop in Saint Paul and Minneapolis and Titular Bishop of Afufenia on March 2, 1999 . The Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, Harry J. Flynn , donated him episcopal ordination on May 14 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were John Robert Roach , Senior Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, and Joseph Leo Charron CPPS, Bishop of Des Moines .

He was named Bishop of Columbus on October 14, 2004, and initiated into office on January 13 of the next year.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on January 31, 2019.
