Heinrich IV. (Reuss-Köstritz)

Heinrich IV. Prince Reuss-Köstritz (born April 26, 1821 in Dresden , † July 25, 1894 in Ernstbrunn ) was a German nobleman and owner of the Paragium Reuss-Köstritz from the Princely House of Reuss .

Heinrich IV. Was the son of Heinrich LXIII. Reuss zu Köstritz and his first wife, Countess Eleonore zu Stolberg-Wernigerode (1801–1827). His brother Heinrich VII. Reuss zu Köstritz was adjutant general of Kaiser Wilhelm I, Heinrich XIII. Reuss zu Köstritz became lieutenant general and infantry general à la suite.

Life

He received his training first at the pedagogy of the Brethren in Niesky , then at the Plochman Gymnasium before he came to the University of Berlin.

He went into Prussian service and joined the Garde du Corps regiment on November 1, 1845 as a second lieutenant without a patent . He received his patent on August 18, 1845 and was officially admitted to the regiment on September 15, 1849. On April 1, 1851, he was given four months' leave, on May 8, 1851, the Order of St. John and then on October 14, 1851, his departure as Prime-Lieutenant with the permission to wear regimental uniform. In his assessment from the year 1845 by his regimental commander, Count Fink von Finckenstein, it says: Makes a lot of effort, but is preferred to be a cavalryman with no favorable investments. Upbringing is excellent and his conduct is excellent.

He then devoted himself mainly to the administration of his property in Austria. On November 1, 1861, he received the Prussian Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with a star, and on May 22, 1883, the character of Major General and was placed À la suite with the officers . On March 22, 1887 the character as lieutenant general and on January 27, 1892 also the character of a general of the cavalry .

On February 1, 1878, Heinrich IV took over the Paragium from Heinrich LXIX. Associated with this was a virile vote in the Reuss younger line of the Landtag . Accordingly, he was a member of the state parliament from October 31, 1880 to July 25, 1894. He was also the owner of the family entails Ernstbrunn and Hagenberg in Lower Austria.

Heinrich IV. Was Royal Prussian General of the Cavalry à la suite and Knight of Honor of the Royal Prussian Order of St. John . He was the holder of the Grand Cross of the Grand Ducal Mecklenburg House Order of the Wendish Crown , the Grand Cross of the Ducal Saxony-Ernestine House Order , Knight of the Royal Prussian Red Eagle Order 1st Class, the Princely Hohenzollern Cross of Honor 1st Class and the Grand Cross of the Grand Ducal Saxony-Weimaraner House Order of Vigilance or the White Falcon .
