Heinrich Jordan von Wuthenau

Heinrich Jordan von Wuthenau (* 1657 in Anhalt-Köthen , † June 4, 1727 in Insterburg ) was a Prussian lieutenant general , chief of the dragoon regiment No. 6 and heir to Rudupönen, Gumbinnen district .

Life

His parents were Moritz Friedrich von Wuthenau (1626–1672), heir to Trebbichau, Weidenfeld, Kösitz in Anhalt, and his wife Agnes Armgard, née von Wartensleben († 1677) from the Brumby family. She was a daughter of Jordan Heinrich von Wartensleben.

Military career

In 1672 Wuthenau came into the "Derflinger" dragoon regiment. During the Dutch War of 1672/79 he fought against the French and Swedes. He took part in the battle of Fehrbellin and in the campaign in Western Pomerania. In 1676 he became a lieutenant. In 1685/86 he took part in the campaign in Hungary and the siege of Ofen , where he was able to distinguish himself. In 1686 Wuthenau became a captain and on May 13, 1692 a major in the Anhalt regiment on horseback and on April 19, 1694 lieutenant colonel . From 1702 he fought in the War of the Spanish Succession in Braband. Wuthenau was involved in the siege of Lille, Gent and Mons and in the battles of Oudenaarde , Neerwind and Malplaquet . At that time he was promoted to colonel on January 19, 1703 and on January 14, 1710 commander of the Schlippenbach regiment on horseback . Shortly thereafter, on January 21, 1710, he was appointed brigadier . On January 29th he was transferred to the Albrecht Regiment on Horseback as commander.

After the war he became major general on May 14, 1713. As such, he took part in the Pomeranian campaign on 1715/16 . Wuthenau was in the occupation of Wollin under General von Schwendy . In May 1715 he received three regiments of dragoons and cavalry and set up camp at Groß-Mockratz. On July 3, 1715 he stood in front of Stettin, then also in front of Stralsund. Following the war, on March 28, 1717, he became chief of Dragoon Regiment No. 6 with headquarters in Heiligenbeil and from 1718 in Insterburg. On May 21, 1721 he became a Prussian lieutenant general with a patent from May 22, 1721 and at the same time chief of the Prussian Hussar Corps ( Hussar Regiment No. 1 ). He died on June 4, 1727 in Insterburg and was buried on August 6, 1727 in the town church of Insterburg.

family

In 1679 Wuthenau married Luise Henriette von Krummensee († 1723) from the Schöneiche family. She was the daughter of the Brandenburg Oberstwachtmeister Otto Friedrich von Krummensee. His father-in-law died in 1678 during the siege of Stralsund. The couple had at least one son:
