Heinrich Kroeger

Heinrich Kröger (born October 15, 1932 in Ahrenswohlde , district of Stade ) is a German pastor and author . He has dealt scientifically with the topic " Low German in the Church".

biography

Kröger grew up in Ahrenswohlde and Postmoor near Horneburg on the Elbe . After graduating from high school in 1952 at the Athenaeum in Stade , he studied theology in Hamburg , Tübingen , Heidelberg and Göttingen from 1952 to 1957 . After the 1st and 2nd exams, he worked as a pastor at the Luther Church in Soltau from 1959 to 1994 .

From 1972 to 1992 he was chairman of the “Working Group of Low German Pastors in Lower Saxony” and from 1992 to 1998 its managing director. From 1990 to 2001 he was chairman of the new platform "Plattdüütsch in de Kark", from 2001 to 2012 he was managing director there.

From 1979 to 2012 Kröger was chairman of the Freudenthal Society and from 1976 to 1979 he was a member of the jury for the "Freudenthal Prize", which is awarded annually, from 1979 to 2009 he was its chairman.

Between 2001 and 2009 he was chairman of the “Forum Plattdüütsch Soltau-Fallingbostel (SFA)”. From 1979 to 2019 he was co-editor of the magazine "De Kennung" and from 1992 to 2017 of "Soltauer Schriften / Binneboom", he also wrote numerous articles in the Biographisch-Bibliographisches Kirchenlexikon (BBKL).

Kröger lives and works mostly in Soltau.
