Heinrich Simonis

Heinrich Simonis (born December 10, 1766 in Buret Luxembourg ; † December 6, 1821 in Bitburg ) was a Prussian district administrator in the Bitburg district .

Origin and life

Heinrich Simonis was a son of the farmer Heinrich Joseph Simonis and his wife Anna Barbara, geb. Bouvier. After studying philosophy , around 1791 he became an electoral trustee , court clerk and canton president . In 1800 he was secretary of the sub-prefecture Bitburg, then district council and from 1814 district director of Bitburg. In April 1816 he was appointed the first Prussian district administrator of the newly created Bitburg district, which was followed on April 25, 1817 by the definitive appointment by the highest cabinet order (AKO) . Simonis remained district administrator until 1821, when he died while he was doing his job.

Before 1800, Simonis was with Anna Maria Juliana, b. Michel (* around 1779; † before April 1819) from Houffalize . The couple had 13 children together.
